In the past private corporations and public agencies retained the services of a civil engineer to design large scale projects like residential subdivisions, shopping centers, and schools. We prepared plans for grading and draining the site, and designed the roads and utilities for these facilities. Over time we discovered how these activities impacted our environment and develop ways to reduce these impacts. The regulations governing these activities increased and became more complex, and so did the role of the civil engineer.
Today, with the listing of the several species of endangered salmon, we have increased our awareness of how everyday activities effect our air and water quality in small but accumulative ways. And again, the regulations governing these activities are increasing and becoming more complex. More and more, the services of a civil engineer are required by home builders and home owners to prepare designs and obtain permits for the improvement of their property.

History:
WestSound Engineering was established in January 1996 and later incorporated in 1997. The growth and success of WestSound Engineering, Inc. is attributed to our local expertise and responsive professional staff. Consulting services have been provided for a variety of public, residential, commercial and light industrial projects. In 2004 we added professional land surveying services.
President:
Craig T. Baldwin, P.E., is the founder and the current president of WestSound Engineering, Inc. Mr. Baldwin has an established reputation for completing quality projects on schedule and within budget. His engineering career spans more than 20 years and includes significant office management and project management expertise.
