Surveying Services
During the development of a site it has routinely become important to establish where the
properties boundaries are physically located. When performing a boundary
survey the WSE survey staff will review title reports recorded surveys and
other documentation and reference the information obtained from those items
to existing monuments located throughout that neighboring area. With this
they will compute the sites boundaries and search for an existing
monumentation to establish where the corners of the property might lie.
Should they need to or be asked to provide new monumentation WSE will also
prepare a survey document or plan to be recorded with the county.
Generally during the design of a site it is very important to establish the existing elevations
of the site. This process is normally achieved through a topographic survey
that uses a series of surveyed data points to describe the area of interest.
Whether obtained from GPS equipment or more conventional survey means, the
collected data then used to produce an AutoCAD based drawing depicting the
site's contours which can then be used in the design process.
Essentially the reverse of Topographic surveys staking is the process by which proposed
features are initially located on a site. This process can be as simple as
providing a few reference points for a contractor to pull measurements from
or as complex as staking out numerous points to profile final contours,
features, or elevations.
Generally performed in
conjunction with engineering services, the surveying of constructed features
is normally performed to verify the level of conformance achieved between
the constructed features and the planned features.
Occasionally the value of a property is needed for financial, insurance or legal reasons. To
establish this value it is common for landowners to request an ALTA survey.
ALTA is an acronym for American Land Title Association. An ALTA survey
essentially locates and identifies the physical surface features of a site
so that and estimator can determine a value for the property. |
